RedGifs is all short clips, and each one usually comes in two versions: HD and SD. The clip we tested on 19 October 2026 came in 960p and 480p. You get an MP4 either way: sharper and far smaller than a real GIF of the same clip.
What you can paste
| Link | What you get |
|---|---|
A clip (redgifs.com/watch/…) |
an MP4 in HD or SD |
| A user's page | their clips, to pick from |
| A niche | its clips, to pick from |
Copy a RedGifs link
A RedGifs clip's address is redgifs.com/watch/ followed by three joined words, like redgifs.com/watch/carefulinfantiledromaeosaur.
- On a phone: open the clip, tap Share (on RedGifs or in your browser), then Copy link.
- On a computer: copy the address from the address bar.
Paste it in the box above.
HD or SD?
- HD is the one to keep: it's what RedGifs shows on a big screen.
- SD is enough for a phone and loads instantly.
When it doesn't work
- The clip was deleted by its owner or by RedGifs.
- You pasted an image link from another site that showed the clip: open the clip on RedGifs and copy that address instead.
- You've used today's free allowance.
Questions
Can I get a real GIF file instead of an MP4? RedGifs itself stores its clips as video, so the MP4 is the original. A GIF made from it would be much bigger and less sharp.
Can I save all the clips of a user? Paste their page's address and pick the clips you want from the list.
